It's because of distance fare.
say like I rather take Yellow Bus, so I take from Kranji to AMK
is $1.57, distance is 18.2km.
Since 170X is 6km from JB to Kranji (total fare based on 24.2km,
total fare $1.75), because of distance fare, in comparison the 170X
fare is just $0.18 vs Yellow Bus's RM0.90 or S$0.38.
That's why w/ exception of Yew Tee, it's cheaper to take 170 or
950.
It's pretty ironic. Last time from Larkin take CW1 is cheaper
than 170 by 10c, but w/ distance fare, taking 170 - MRT can be up
to 40c cheaper than CW1.
